Since we are on the topic of new music here at the E.N.Y. Journal I felt the need to throw in my two cents on a couple of new records.

The official Doug McPherson seal of approval goes to....

Portugal. The Man - Waiter: "You Vultures"

and....

Rocky Votolato - Makers

Listen to the former if you want to hear something unlike anything else out there right now. More specifically really technical indie rock. The music on the album wouldn't sound out of place on a Blood Brothers album except there is singing instead of screaming. Listen to the latter for an amazing acoustic singer songwriter. This record really breathes new life into what was becoming a stale genre rife with Dashboard Confessional and Bright Eyes imitators.
Check them both out!

Doug
